POTLUCK IN THE PARK in GIVE!GUIDE 2009 In this year of great economic and political uncertainty, Potluck in the Park is very appreciative of being chosen by Willamette Week to participate in their annual Give!Guide effort. Last year, this community fundraiser brought in more than $806,000 for 55 local nonprofits. The Give!Guide's goal—and now ours—is to develop new donors for organizations like ours. Willamette Week puts a special emphasis on identifying new donors under the age of 36—and provides all sorts of incentives to help bring this about. All incentive gifts are courtesy of Willamette Week and local merchants, so 100% of your donation comes directly to Potluck in the Park. Matching Donation The Guide and its website go live on November 11. We have a partner, Association of Catering and Event Professionals (ACEP), who will match donations we receive up to $500. In addition, Willamette Week will be providing approximately $100,000 worth of incentives to people who give. You can also donate in someone else’s name as a gift. Thank you items can be sent to that person. How it Works From November 11th through midnight on December 31st, 2009, visit www.wweek.com/giveguide and donate to Potluck. Folks who give $25 will receive incentive gifts, and the more you give, the better gifts you get! You can also print a donation form from the website and mail in your donation. Here’s what you can do: Make sure everyone you know—friends, relatives, children, business acquaintances—hears about this great opportunity to support our cause and earn valuable and fun incentives in the process. So please help us get the word out—and make sure everyone you know is looking for Willamette Week’s Give!Guide when it publishes on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and goes live on the web the same day at www.wweek.com/giveguide. Thank you so much for your help! Incentives! Swag! Goodies galore! Sure, ‘tis better to give than to receive. But getting something in return for your Give!Guide generosity sure shouldn’t hurt. With that in mind, this year Give!Guide is offering all manner of rewards, matched to the amounts given. The bigger picture goes like this: If you give $25 or more to any of the nonprofits listed in this Guide, you’ll get an email containing an electronic coupon. Print it out to receive the benefits listed below. $50 or more to a single nonprofit — hopefully to Potluck in the Park — will get you, in addition to the electronic coupon, an envelope containing additional goodies. Next, if you’re 35 or under and give $100 or more, you’re automatically entered in a drawing for all manner of goodies — including a cheque from Willamette Week for $1,000. At $500, there’s home delivery of a nice, recyclable New Seasons grocery bag containing a bottle of wine and some Stash Tea. A $1,000 donation adds to your home-delivered shopping bag a 22 oz. bottle of one of WW’s favorite beers — Ninkasi — and a pound of Peet’s coffee. A donation of $2,500 or more results in one of Willamette Week’s owners — Publisher Richard Meeker or Editor Mark Zusman — at your door with a further enhanced shopping bag. Finally, every one of you who gives the $10 minimum will have a chance to have WW’s Publisher cook you and a guest dinner at his house early next year. There are incentives for the nonprofits, too. Whichever one attracts the greatest number of contributions from donors under the age of 36 will get a $1,000 cheque from Willamette Week, along with bragging rights. The same holds for the nonprofit that raises the most money through this year’s Give!Guide. ( Only one prize per nonprofit.) The $25 coupon • Free admission to a special
